Selma Sisters March On

September 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Sixty years ago, two teenage sisters walked into history and Selma Sisters March On tells their extraordinary story. The film follows Alice and Denise, just 16 and 14 years old, who were among the 300 chosen to walk the entire four-day, 54-mile march from Selma to Montgomery. Having watched their parents turned away again and again while attempting to register to vote, the sisters channeled that anger and heartbreak into action, crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge alongside John Lewis and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the historic final day of the march. Join us to screen the film — and then we’re honored to welcome the sisters themselves to answer questions and share what they hope the next generation learns from their experiences.
