We are excited to announce the 4th Annual Michigan Democratic Party Rural Caucus Rural Summit, taking place the week of June 14th through June 20th, 2026, at the UAW Black Lake Conference Center located at 2000 Maxon Road, Onaway 49765. The Theme of This Year’s Rural Summit is Victory Runs Through Rural Michigan
Nestled in the heart of northern Michigan, the UAW Black Lake Conference Center offers an exceptional setting for this year’s Rural Summit. Attendees will enjoy comfortable on-site lodging and state-of-the-art meeting spaces designed for thoughtful collaboration and constructive dialogue. The Center also features a variety of recreational amenities including a campground, 18 hole golf course, lake access, swimming, an indoor swimming pool and exercise room, and nature trails, allowing Rural Summit attendees to connect and unwind amid the scenic beauty of Black Lake. Whether you’re engaging in conference sessions, listening to speakers or enjoying the outdoors, the venue is the perfect backdrop for our shared mission.
As we prepare to gather for our fourth Rural Summit, we reflect on the energy and achievements of previous years. This is a pivotal time to recommit to our shared goals: saving our democracy, electing Democrats up and down the ballot, supporting rural communities, strengthening partnerships with organized labor, and growing the middle class. To do that we must focus on lowering the cost of living, bridging economic divides, connecting with working class voters, and offering a vision that spans the political spectrum. We must work to lower the cost of healthcare, prescription drugs, childcare and the cost of energy. We must work to protect reproductive rights, voting rights and our Constitutional rights. Together, we will continue the important work of advancing progressive values and securing a brighter future for all Michiganders.
