Banned Book Club – James by Percival Everett
October 14 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for the RWB Banned Book Club discussion of James by Percival Everett. This book reimagines the story of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the perspective of Jim, the enslaved man at the heart of Mark Twain’s classic — a novel that is one of the most frequently challenged books in the country. The book explores themes of slavery, race, identity, language, and what it means to claim one’s own humanity. James has been nominated for many awards and won both the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the 2024 National Book Award for Fiction.
