On the City Commission\, he championed composting in East Grand Rapids. On the County Commission\, he supported expanding our recycling efforts\, capturing metals from the ashes of the incinerator\, and diverting trash away from the landfill. \nKris believes in a Michigan where:\nEvery lake\, river\, and stream is protected from the corporations and polluters that would do it harm\, and they would pay for and clean up those sites if they do cause damage;\nEvery piece of trash is sent to the best location it can be\, whether it’s recycled\, composted\, incinerated\, or absolute worst case buried;\nSolar panels are plentiful and neighbors can generate solar together in community solar setups;\nRatepayers aren’t stuck with the bill from corporate utilities paying their shareholders instead of improving the system;\nWe don’t build data centers that steal our water\, pollute our air\, and don’t create enough high paying jobs. \nJoin us for some food\, some fun\, and a bit of pickleball and hear Kris’ thoughts\, ask questions\, and just enjoy!

SUMMARY:Resistance Protest
DESCRIPTION:As of Monday\, April 20th\, we will be on corner of 28th street and the E. Beltline which is where Lowe’s is located. Lots of parking available. This Resistance Protest will take place every Monday from noon-1:00pm.  If you do not agree with what is happening under the present regime\, this is one easy way to make a difference and to stand up for what you believe in. If what is happening is not what you may have voted for\, that is an excellent reason to join us\, even if you have never attended a protest before. We are a respectful\, welcoming group and believe in a non-violent approach to making change. Everyone is welcome and bring a friend or two with you.  Signs will be available to use during the protest if you don’t have one.
