SUMMARY:How to Fight for the Department of Education w/ Sharon McMahon
DESCRIPTION:We hear about the Department of Education all the time — but do we really understand all that it does? The Republicans want to eliminate it – this isn’t a hypothetical situation! It’s a serious threat to the future of education in our country and the power to stop it starts with us. Join us for an eye-opening conversation with Sharon McMahon — America’s favorite government teacher and the voice behind @SharonSaysSo — as she breaks down what the Department of Education really does\, why it matters to every student\, parent\, and community\, and what’s at stake if it’s shut down. We will also hear from fired federal workers who will share an insider’s perspective on why the department and their work was vital for our schools. Let’s come together\, get informed\, and take action. Our schools\, our kids\, and our communities are counting on us.

SUMMARY:2025 Rural Summit — The Great Rural Revival
DESCRIPTION:The theme of this year’s third annual Rural Summit is The Great Rural Revival\, and its purpose is to unify and bring new direction to rural Democrats from all over Michigan\, to remind every Democrat what the recent election so powerfully demonstrated\, that elections have consequences\, that we cannot cede a single rural county or vote in our fight to save democracy\, that Democratic political leaders on the ground at the county level are the change makers and that becoming a Candidate and or a supporting advocate for every office from Precinct Delegate to state office is the path to winning back Michigan in the upcoming and future elections. This Summit will focus on the fact that everyone has an issue and needs that are important to them and that need to be heard\, that legislative action is important\, as is the environment and the education of our children. All these needs and concerns will be addressed at this Summit. Attendees will engage in dynamic work sessions designed to provide the tools for every candidate’s successful race\, to ensure no Republican runs unopposed for any local or state office\, to encourage active participation by elected officials in sessions\, and to encourage the exchange of ideas between legislators\, Union leaders and rural Democrats. This Summit will be this and so much more. I encourage you to attend this year’s Rural Summit and look forward to seeing you there.

SUMMARY:Government 101: Checks & Balances & Beyond

Join us for the RWB Civics Salon series and let’s break down the basics of government in a fun and informative way!! In this first session\, we’re diving into what makes our government run including checks and balances and the rule of law\, aka\, why the government is (supposed to be) like a well-organized group project instead of total chaos. Let’s demystify this whole “government” thing together and make civics make sense!

SUMMARY:Stop The Save Act
DESCRIPTION:Anti-voter lawmakers in the US House or Representatives have introduced legislation to restrict the ability of eligible American citizens to register to vote by introducing oppressive new identification requirements. \nThe federal SAVE Act (H.R. 22) would require documentary proof of citizenship\, creating chaos in our elections while blocking eligible voters from voting. \nMillions of Michiganders voted to make voter registration and elections more accessible for eligible Michigan citizens in 2018 and 2022. We can not allow Washington D.C. politics and intentional election fearmongering to take over our state’s elections and disenfranchise Michigan voters. \nCome to Representative Hillary Scholten’s district office in Grand Rapids and rally to urge them to vote NO on the SAVE Act!

SUMMARY:The Reality of Project 2025
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Red Wine & Blue know that when you are wondering anything about the current state of society – from how tariffs have impacted the U.S. in the past to how we’ve been able to crush attempts to take away our freedoms before – Heather Cox Richardson is your go-to! \n  \nShe’s so influential in the 2025 political conversation that she has 3 million followers on Facebook – and Meta has evidently tried to censor her more than once recently. \n  \nAnd Rep. Crockett is the superstar Congresswoman from Texas who is not afraid to tell the truth about how our rights and families’ wellbeing are being tromped on by the Trump administration. \n  \nWhen Trump tried to deny any connection to Project 2025\, Rep. Crockett pointed out that Trump’s administration is mentioned over 300 times in the plan. As Republicans in Congress defend Elon Musk for acting in the name of “efficiency\,” Rep. Crockett has been speaking out about the impacts of DOGE cuts on their constituents – from children to seniors to veterans. \n  \nOn Monday\, we’re going to talk about the extent to which Project 2025 has found its way into the Trump administration’s policies\, and we’re going to release a brand new way for you to spread the word about this extremist government plan. \n  \nHeather Cox Richardson and Rep. Jasmine Crockett are some of the most sought after guests in our community – and they chose to come talk to Red Wine & Blue! It’s just a sign of how influential your voice is – and we want to make sure you have the tools to use it.

SUMMARY:Text Arcade
DESCRIPTION:*NOTE: Do NOT sign up here! You need to buy a $25 ticket to attend this text arcade – and tickets are limited to 35 people per text bank. (That includes 1400 texts.) To guarantee yourself a spot\, please buy your ticket here as soon as possible:https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ft6arcade25# \nOnce you’ve bought your ticket\, as the event approaches\, you will be sent a Zoom link. \n\nAnd now\, the event description: \nThe problem? Field Team 6 has contact information for hundreds of thousands of unregistered\, likely Democrats – FAR more than we can afford to text. Yet texting is an incredibly effective outreach tool. And there is always huge volunteer demand for texting. So the only obstacle is funding. \nThe solution? Text Arcades. \nA Text Arcade is a super-fast text bank that costs $25 a ticket and gets you 1400 texts to send. And here’s why that’s a game-changer… 100% of your ticket price goes to funding this textbank. In fact\, we’re subsidizing the costs of texting to keep the ticket price reasonable\, so shout-outs (shouts-out?) to our other donors who are helping defray costs as well! Text Arcades will allow us to reach far more people and register far more Democrats. And we cap attendance to make sure everyone has enough texts to send – so get your ticket before it sells out! \nThis fight for freedom is no game\, but thanks for playing! \nNOTE – STATES VARY WEEK TO WEEK! TARGET STATES NOW: Wisconsin
